A Rare Sighting

We had quite the unusual ski trip a couple weeks back. We arrived late in the afternoon to find the lake very crowded. The water was rough, to say the least. And, so we decided to kick back and drive back to the dam first.

The little boys were their usual, silly selves.

Sierra, still having tender earlobes from piercing them last March, caught her earring on her life jacket and made quite the bloody mess. Here's the kind of cleaned up lobe. She didn't want to get in the water after that though. Luckily, when we got home and cleaned up her earlobe better, there wasn't a major tear. It had me worried for a while though with all the blood that came out. Poor Sierra. I think she was ready to take her earrings out and to let the holes close up!

Poor Lance. He has a dad that likes to throw him in the freezing cold water up by the dam. And, I mean, FREEZING. Lance was a good sport about it though. Does he look bluish?

By the time we came back out to the main part of the lake, it was getting dark and cool. No one wanted to get in the water then. So, we had our first ski trip where NO ONE skiied. But, what made it all worthwhile was our rare sighting.

Let me zoom in some.....how often does one get to see a bald eagle?! We were excited!

So, it was a good night at the lake afterall.

It's Great To Be Loved

Oh, to be loved by my little one. Even though there are days when I wish he wasn't so clingy, I can't seem to get enough of his "nuggles." Thanks for my kisses, Weston.

Swimming with the Big Guys again

We went out for a date ride up to Gisela, AZ with two other couples - Jason, Megan, Bobby, and Cindy.
We headed down to a creek and changed into our swimsuits for some fun swimming with the horses. Todd on his faithful steed, Trigger. Good, ol' reliable Trigger.

Todd took Storm in the water for a bit.

Cherokee and I. I was a bit nervous since I only had him in his halter. I should have put the bridle and bit on for a little more control:)

Bobby tried out Jason's horse Gus in the water since his horse, Roxi, didn't want to go.

After swimming, we headed back to the trailer to grab a bite of food for a late lunch.

Boredom Buster

Thank goodness for Mom's internet shopping....cause that means BOXES delivered right to our doorstep. Who cares what's inside them, just get the boxes!!! Zane was quick to take this box and turn it into a robot!

Luckily, a couple days later, another box came so Zane quickly made one for "brother." What a thoughtful big brother!

Picassos in the Making

On a trip to Walmart, we came across some figurines that desperately needed some color. And, so the kids bought some to bring home and paint.

Cool Weather for June - relatively speaking

We had some cooler than normal weather for June. It gave us some great opportunities to enjoy our front yard swing. Even Cash has to join in on the fun.

Making Memories on Memorial Day

From past experience of when we would go to the lake for Memorial Day, we learned that by Monday most campers are sleeping in, packing up, or are too drunk. So, we decided to head up to Apache Lake just for the day....just for Memorial Day. Boy, are we glad we did. We had "glass" even in the middle of the day. We love that lake. It's beautiful and it was a lot of fun to spend the day there with our friends.

We went in to the restaurant for lunch...just to enjoy some air conditioning:). Right by where we beached the boat, was a tree swing. Of course, the kids couldn't resist. Go Afton!

Nelson did it like a pro. Eventually one should be able to let go of the rope and just ride the wake. WOW.

I tried to get Wes up on the ski skimmer, but he wouldn't stand up. Can you see the frantic expression on his face? I tried bribing....well, that was the only way that I even got him out there. So, he kind of tried....he just didn't get the concept (or didn't want to?) of standing up. Hopefully, we'll have him up and going by the end of summer.

Todd took Wes out on the jet ski for a bit, but again, our Weston is a little reserved about many things. I am not sure if he liked it or not. ...doesn't look too happy about it. He's content just to ride in the boat.

Sierra had some fun on the jet ski too.

We had a great day filled with many new memories. We can't wait to do it again.
