Fall Break Entertainment

Our friends were headed down to As You Wish one day during fall break, so we just had to tag along for the fun. Luckily, they said we could:).
Wes and Sydney had fun painting their pieces.
Even Sierra enjoyed it....something therapeutic about it. It's kind of like coloring on your toddler's coloring sheets. The kids seemed to really enjoy the painting. Lance went to work at the shop to earn some money, so he wasn't with us. But, the rest of us sure enjoyed our morning.
I love the concentration!
The tongue makes it even better!
WAA-laaaa. Ready to be cooked!

Crazy Color Creatures

Wes is going to the same preschool that Zane went to. Way back then, this was Zane's favorite book from preschool. Now it is Wes' fav. I love it. It is a song all about the colors - to the tune of Skip To My Lou. I loved it when Zane sang the song. He somehow misprounced words in that special toddler way that made it sooooo adorable. Good memories of that! Now, I love listening to Wes sing the song as he "reads" the book. Weston has carried this book EVERYWHERE. (Notice the WORN look of the book:). He took it to my sisters and taught her two year old the song one day when she babysat him. When he talks about what color something is, he always calls it by the name in the book - Mello Yellow, Sue Blue, Jean Green, Jack Black, etc. I love it!!!
He loves it so much that he even fell asleep one day reading it. Now, that's a good book! Definitely a recommended book for your reading list! (if you have a toddler:)

Adorable

One night, as I was getting kids into bed, I came across this scene. Absolutely adorable. We usually read books before going to bed. The big kids read on their own and I read to Weston. Apparently this night, he didn't want to wait for me because I found Wes "reading" this book on his own.
I love how "into it" he is.

Cheeser!

Pause the Blog music, so that you can listen to him read. Quite the mumbler!

Boys Will Be Boys

Why is it that boys are so attracted to guns and shooting. ???? Lance and Zane were out having target practice in the back lot so I tried to get a few shots of the brothers bonding.
Next thing I knew, I became the target!!! Look at the smile on Lance!!! I think something is definitely wrong here. Well, at least I got a picture of Lance (since they are so rare)...and it's worth the airsoft pellet to my thigh cause it was even a SMILING picture:)
Isn't it nice to have brothers?!

Sculptor in the Making

I love my special time with Weston. I have always enjoyed taking mom n tot classes with my kids. This class is no exception. The same wonderful teacher, that taught Lance and I, is still teaching the Mom n Tot Clay Class at the Mesa Arts Center.
Weston has some much fun sculpting and painting various projects. He doesn't get tired of working on his art. Zane was much the same way...and he still enjoys art.

Weston insited that he take a picture too (if I got to take some of him), so I posed with some of our clay cut-outs. I think Wes did pretty good at keeping me in the frame:). Maybe there's a little focusing issue here, but the out 0f focus technique softens wrinkles very well. What do you think?
A proud boy showing off some finished work - plates with animals on them (and the animals were made by tracing his hand in various positions on the clay).
WAY to GO WESTON!

We Can't Pass Up a Good Deal

...especially when it's going to the zoo for FREE. The Phoenix zoo had a special where you could get in free on Wednesdays in Sept. with your Fry's card. So, all my sisters (that includes 3 sister-in-laws:) that have kids headed to the zoo on the last Wed. of Sept.
The look of AWE on his face never gets old. Kids just love the zoo, don't they?!

It's great to have cousins!!!

Our Little Rabbit

Following in his sister's footsteps, Weston has become quite the salad lover. Sierra used to LOVE salads as a little toddler (she loved to come eat out of bowls). Well, she still does enjoy a good salad, but it has to be a basic one....nothing too fancy:). Lately, Todd and I have been enjoying salads with feta cheese and other misc. ingredients, topped with balsamic dressing. Well, Wes has decided that he wants to join in on the fun. I guess he sees us eating them all the time, so he wants in on the action. He'll let you know that this is his FaVORITE salad - with cheese:). YUM. I might just have to go make me one now!

Need Any Toilet Paper?

Are we feeling loved or hated? Well, hopefully, it's LOVE cause we caught the criminals. Two of our favorite families tp'd our house....including the two year old. Gotta love it! I think Zane had just has much fun cleaning it up as our friends, the Whatcotts & Brewers, did tp'ing us.
Don't worry though....revenge is sweet....especially when it's friends that have HUGE trees in their front yards:).
