BONUS day

You know it's a great day when you go out for someone else, but you ending up scoring! It was either going out to dinner for my birthday or Mother's day (Saturday night before:).... that the boys ended up with balloon animals (or sword in Wes' case) from the restaurant. BONUS!

Preschool Celebration May 2010

Here's Weston promising us a good show:)
Instead of High School Musical, the kids put on a "Preschool Musical" show. They were too cute!

Wes showing off his dancing skills.

Miss Ranelle invited her "graduated" students to come as well. So Zane was able to participate as well. woo hoo. They both did a great job.

What a good big brother that Zane is!

One of my FAVORITE days:)

One can't help but love a day where she is spoiled and appreciated:). Yep. this was Mother's Day 2010. Not only did my kids spoil me with gifts and cards, but I told them I wanted pictures of me with them for Mother's Day...gotta milk it when I can!

This lovely flower arrangement has the funniest story behind it. Todd was taking the kids shopping the night before. Sierra was in the middle of doing something so she chose not to go. Lance bought me a bouquet. When he came home, he realized there was an opportunity before him to make some money. So, he went out and picked some flowers on off the bushes, put them in my salad dressing container, added water and a lemon slice for decor!!! Who knew Lance had a talent for flower arranging. Then, he showed Sierra the one he bought and the one he made and offered to sell her one for $5. She bought the homemade one and gave it to me:). I didn't even catch that it was homemade until he starting laughing. Lance....an entrepreneur in the making. Silly boy.

At church the boys decorated oven mitts for me. Love them!

Then, Lance being Lance, thought he could get out my picture requirement for Mother's Day...so we pinned him down. Later, I got a real shot....kind of ...if you can count that cheesy smile.
I sure love my kids. I am so blessed to be a mother. I know that Heavenly Father sent these spirits to me for a reason. I am so lucky. I can learn so much from them as they are patient with me for my sooooo many imperfections as a mother. I feel like I am always messing things up and wanting a "redo." Someday, I'll get it down...probably about the time I'm a grandma and all my kids are out of the house. But, maybe that's only because no one will be home for me to referee arguments for:):). I love my kids. (and my wonderful hubby). Happy Mother's Day to me!

1st Irrigation

Back in May 2010, we had our 1st irrigation. So after stick fighting, the kids had to go out and play in that mucky water:). It was still a little on the cold side, so no one got really wet...just went for a ride!!!

Wes gets a ride first.

Then Zane.

Sierra stayed on the safety island ~ aka trampline:)

Boys Being Boys

About May 2010 ~ The boys came across some sticks...don't remember where they came from. But, boys being boys, those sticks quickly became swords!

Go Wes! He's got Lance on the run!!!!

Lance's Fabrication Class - aka Welding:)

Lance made these AWESOME, (heavy-- lighter material would've cost a lot more:), but durable and reliable, ramps in his welding class. Way to Go, boy! He really enjoys his fabrication class!

I was only supposed to take a pic of the ramp, not him, but I couldn't help but snap that 2nd one when he came back into the frame:). He's just so cute:):):)

Temple Dedication April 2010

When the LDS church finishes a Temple, they have an "Open House" for all to come walk through it. Once it is dedicated, then only worthy members can enter. A new temple was built in the Gila Valley (eastern AZ) and so my extended family planned a trip to take the children through the temple. I remember back in seminary, I made the goal to go through every temple in the world that the church had built. The problem is that back then there was 4o something Temples. Now, there are over 130.... on the way to fulfilling the prophecy of temples dotting the earth.
We arrived the night before and so the younger kids jumped at the chance to go swimming again. (remember it was April...so they probably hadn't been since the previous summer:).

I love all the smiles! They had a lot of fun in that hotel pool! We love heated pools!

Wes was a little hesitant to actually do any swimming so he needed a little convincing from Sierra and Zane. The jacuzzi ended up bubbling over --BONUS fun:):)

The next day, our family headed to the Temple where we went on the tour and got to see the beautiful inside rooms.

Todd had to work so it was just me and the kids from our family. (It was a little windy out there...I didn't really style my hair like that:).
After the Temple tour, we went to go see where the kids Great Grandpa Richardson grew up.
FUNNIEST PIC EVER!!! When you walk through the Temple tour, they give you these booties to wear over your shoes (to help keep the Temple clean). I am driving and I turn around to see this! TOOOOoooo funny.
He's knows he's a goofball and I love it! ....he looks like he was caught red-handed!
So, then Zane joined in the fun.
As we were driving out to the water reservoir, look what we came across! A Gila Monster!!! Ironic, seeing as Great, Great Gpa Richardson used to handle and play around with these poisonous creatures! We let it be after taking a few pics:)
...walking around....being silly
Shot too late....but Lance had the "hat" on again. What a goof!

no privacy here.
It was a beautiful day with my family. We are so blessed to have a wonderful extended family, to have such a heritage...on all sides of our families:).
