Off To Colorado

Our Family, along with four other famililes, headed north to Colorado for the 4th of July weekend in our motorhomes. We stayed in Silverton, CO....a VERY cute little town.
We camped our motorhomes at the bottom of a little ski lift. Occasionally, we would hike up to the top. The area is so breath-taking. Mountains. Greenery. Trees. Greenery. Waterfalls. Greenery. Loved it!

We towed Todd's brother's jeep behind us so that we had something to drive around town in. We had fun driving off road with that jeep also. Thanks Mike. I have to say I really ha fun driving it. As a teenager, that was my dream car:).

Emerald Bay Scout Camp

Lance was lucky enough to join the younger boys to Emerald Bay Scout Camp - out on Catalina Island. He went two years and was excited to go back. Now, normally you know that Lance does NOT let me take pictures of him. Luckily, he lets others take photos of him:).
Thanks to this leader, Bro. S., I have many, many pics of Lance at Scout Camp. I still need to figure out what I can do to repay him. I don't think I have EVER had so many photos of Lance for something. Boy, I owe him BIG TIME!

The scouts took a boat out to the Island.

Have you ever seen so many scout shirts at one time?!

Lance's home for a week.

Hmmmm. What does a 14 year old do with a crab?

Hmmm. Pointy, sharp claws. What would those be good for?

Oh, I got it. Let's see who will fall for it.

I guess I need to show them how to do it.

Waa - la. Earrings.

OUCH. How do you get it off?

Okay, maybe this wasn't such a good idea.

Can somebody help me here?!

C'mon.

Ouch, ouch, ouch. ....hopefully a lesson was learned.:)

Lance did lots of canoeing.

Lots of goofing off.

Bro. S even took pics when Lance wasn't aware of it. Boy, I don't even know what to do with all these pics. Isn't he such a cute kid though?!

I guess I need to get some stealth lessons from Jason on how to take good candid shots and not let my subject know I am even there. The problem is Lance would be able to see right through me. He knows that I love photos of him.

I think he had a great time at Emerald Bay....he even earned some merit badges. Now....to get that Eagle Project going:). Thanks Jason (Bro. S.) for all the photos of my cute teenager. I'll cherish these forever.

Way TOO Cool YM/YW Activity

One advantage of being a leader in the Young Women's Organization is that I am there to take photos of my kids at those activities:). Lance wasn't here cause he chose to go to his racquetball class instead. He missed a great time! The youth were split into four teams and then played some games.

They had to race around in canoes. Sierra doesn't look too sure of it, does she?!

Then, each kid had to swim out to a float, dive down, and untie a bracelet off of a rope for him/herself. This was a hard one for many of the kids. These girls were proud of themselves!

They also had to unscramble a scripture and follow some clues to find leaders. The kids were even served a yummy bbq out at the lake. Sierra had a great time.

After the games were over, the young girls went back out in the canoes for some more fun. Sierra is in the far left canoe, paddling in the back. Go girls!

Run, Cash, Run

Warning to all pets: Beware of kids who are bored during the summer. If they come towards you with clothes in their hands, RUN!!! Otherwise, you might find yourself being their dress up doll.

Good ol' Cash put up with it all though.

In fact, he probably loved all the attention. Good ol' Cash.
